Career Opportunity – Tooling Engineer

We are looking for an experienced/self motivated individual who will have the primary responsibility of managing projects to achieve approval to run molds in the manufacturing facility in Reynosa, Mexico. We will assist with relocation expenses for the right person.
Primary Functions of the Position:
• Understanding and demonstrating company values and expected behaviors
• Analyzing and report issues & risks to management as soon as possible to prevent larger issues from developing
• Proposing job related process improvements for better work performance and efficiency
• Working with department managers to create individual goals/objectives that support the department’s objectives for each review period and work to achieve goals/objectives with efficiency
• Providing training to other employees on specific technical subjects
• Identifying and analyzing risks and make plans for corrective actions.
• Molding capacity analysis to assure new projects are accommodated in house. Work with Purchasing to source out otherwise.
• Tracking progress of new tool builds. Assure adaptability to Alps equipment.
• Receiving, inspecting and sampling new molds
• Effect engineering changes in cases where needed, by working with design engineers. This includes obtaining quotes, generating time lines, deviations, tool down time, evaluating the changes and documentation thereof.
• Being responsible for “Internal sign-off” for each new mold.
• Creating and maintaining history book for each new mold.

Required Experience

Minimum of 5 years in plastic injection molding industry
• Hands on experience in mold making or shop floor procedures
• Ability to interpret design data
• Ability to evaluate and critique a design in 3D
• Automotive quality standards (PPAP / Respond to customer queries using industry standard quality tools)
• Experienced in mold design
• Intermediate level in 3D solid design
• Fluent in English language
• Fair working knowledge in Spanish preferred
 

Required Education

Bachelors degree in Engineering discipline or equivalent
