Job Description

This position is responsible to assist with monitoring and implementing the company’s corporate compliance program to ensure adherence to requirements and restrictions under applicable healthcare, anti-bribery regulations and ethical codes of conduct. Would recommend all necessary actions to ensure achievement of the compliance program’s objectives.
• Develop and maintain company related compliance policies and procedures, recommend updates to these corporate policies in respond to developments in the regulations impacting compliance activities
• Monitors and identifies trends which may impact the company’s compliance efforts.
• Acts as an independent review and evaluation group to Identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk, assists in development & implementation of corrective action plans for the resolution of problem issues.
• Responds to and assists in investigations relating to alleged violations of company policies or procedures or other applicable laws, or regulations.
• Ensures proper reporting of violations or potential violations to authorized enforcement agencies as appropriate and/or required.
• Conducts audits as required at overseas company locations.
• Collaborates with other company functions and colleagues to ensure that appropriate remedial actions are instituted to prevent repeat violations or resolve weaknesses in controls identified through investigations, monitoring, audits or other sources.
• Encourage a diverse workplace that enables all participants to contribute to the solution of company compliance issues.
• Performs special projects as required

Required Experience

• Up to 10 years work experience, with 2-3 years in compliance or related field (Experience in a healthcare related business desirable)
• Native Japanese and proficiency in business English
• Excellent communication and analytical skills, working knowledge of healthcare industry regulations, codes of conduct and statutes desirable.
• Business acumen for making sound decisions and recommendations, able to work within a matrix management environment.
• Demonstrated ability to explain and enforce rules, processes and regulations.
• High level of problem solving and ability to influence other at a variety of levels and in different parts of the organization to achieve positive results while maintaining strict confidentiality.
• International travel required up to 30%.
 

Required Education

• Bachelor’s degree required, and advanced degree helpful
