1) Coordinates Ocean Freight Shipments
- Verifying incoming and outgoing shipments
- Processing and ensuring the accuracy of all maritime and voyage documents
- Communicating daily with local agents, ship's master, charterers, ship's owners and other applicable parties,
to obtain vessel and cargo status
- Processing all cargo documentation
- Arranging transportation and vessel space
- Updating shipping schedules when necessary and informing the necessary parties, including customers, vendors, suppliers,
shippers, and Staff
- Creating shipping reports
2) Ensures Smooth Operations
- Tracking shipments and providing status updates to clients as necessary
- Expediting customer orders in a prompt and professional manner
- Assisting and/or following-up on customer billing and accounting issues including calculating
laytime, dispatch, and demurrage and initiating settlement of port disbursements
- Assisting customers with issues,
answering questions, and resolving any problems in a timely manner
3) Other tasks
- Keeps management informed
- Performs general administrative duties
