Job duties |
•Investigate, verify and provide care for injured employees, arrange for medical treatment as needed and monitor and follow up on employee progress to ensure prompt return to work.
•Maintain effective lines of communication with medical care facility and insurance company representatives on matters relating to employee injuries and Worker's Compensation insurance program.
•Develop and implement safety rules and training programs for employees.
•Conduct safety orientation program for new employees.
•Investigate accidents, prepare and file required reports and analyze nature of accident to determine cause, necessary corrective action and follow-up to ensure corrective action is complete.
•Responsible as a staff administrator for ensuring all departments and employees comply with safety rules and regulations although having no line authority over these areas.
•Coordinate light duty or restricted work for employees returning to work with medical restrictions.
•Inspect and evaluate work areas for hazards and unsafe working conditions and take corrective action.
•Manage company hazard control program, maintain records and distribute required forms to proper parties, check materials for proper labeling, handling, storage and movement.
•Meet with OSHA and insurance carrier representatives to conduct facility safety inspections.
•Assist attorneys in preparing for worker's compensation hearings and represent the company at hearings.
•Maintain records, prepare and distribute various required reports relating to employee work related injuries.
•Maintain required medical supplies and personal protection equipment.
•Develop and implement safety incentive and publicity programs to promote employee awareness of performing job duties in a safe manner.
•Conduct daily safety audits and advise management on safety issues observed.
•Train employees on OSHA regulations such as forklifts, lock-out-tag-out, blood borne pathogens, right-to-know, PPE and laser safety.
•Perform other duties as assigned.
